J. Adam Deermount

Managing Director

Adam Deermount is responsible for sourcing equity and debt to provide land developers, homebuilders, commercial developers and investors with capital for acquisition, development, construction, and repositioning.  Mr. Deermount was one of the co-founders of Landmark Capital Advisors (fka Land Advisors Capital) in 2011.  Since inception, Landmark Capital Advisors has sourced approximately $1 billion in debt and equity capital. Prior to Landmark Capital Advisors, Mr. Deermount served as a full-time consultant on high profile restructuring and workout projects.  Mr. Deermount was an advisor to State Street Bank on the restructuring of a $550 million land and development loan.  Prior to that, he served as a bankruptcy consultant to Hogan-Webb, LLC, the Chief Restructuring Offices of LandSource Holding Company, a $2.6 billion land development company owned by Lennar Homes, LNR Partners, and CalPERS.  Mr. Deermount’s experience also includes roles with California National Bank, TA Associates Realty and Merrill Lynch Capital in the Commercial Real Estate Finance Group.  He holds a bachelor’s degree from Tufts University and is a licensed California Real Estate Professional.

David Kidder

President & Managing Director

David Kidder has over 20 years of commercial real estate experience across all major asset classes, with an emphasis on structuring equity and debt for middle market real estate operators. Prior to joining Landmark Capital Advisors, he worked for Ares Commercial Real Estate, a publicly-traded specialty finance REIT listed on the New York Stock Exchange. His origination experience also includes work for Appian Capital and HG Capital, both principal joint venture equity investors, and Knightsbridge Realty Capital, a Newport Beach-based real estate capital advisory firm. Mr. Kidder began his real estate career in the tenant representation sector, working in the San Francisco office market for Julien J. Studley. He has been involved in the closing of over $1 billion of lending and investment transactions. Mr. Kidder earned a bachelor’s degree from University of the Pacific and is a licensed California Real Estate Professional.

Steven D. Sims

Managing Director

Steve Sims is a senior executive responsible for real estate underwriting and analysis, as well as capital structuring at Landmark Capital Advisors.  Mr. Sims was one of the co-founders of Landmark Capital Advisors (fka Land Advisors Capital) in 2011.  Since inception, Landmark Capital Advisors has sourced approximately $1 billion in debt and equity capital.  Prior to founding Landmark Capital Advisors, he was the Co-Founder and Principal at Tusker Investment, focusing on sub-institutional sized investments and advisory services and was a partner at Messenger Investment Company handling the company’s financial, strategic, and market analysis.  Mr. Sims was also with Archon Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of Goldman Sachs, in both Dallas and Washington, D.C.  Over the course of 20 years, Mr. Sims has been involved in more than $3.0 billion in real estate transactions, extending across single-family and multi-family residential, land, office, industrial and retail real estate.  He holds a bachelor’s degree from Southern Methodist University and master’s degree from the University of California Berkeley’s Hass School of Business and is a licensed California Real Estate Professional. 

Tom Farrell

Director – Business Development

Tom Farrell is an industry veteran with more than 30 years of real estate finance experience across most geographies and layers of the capital stack. Landmark Capital Advisors is a boutique capital advisory firm that sources debt and equity for residential and commercial developers across the U.S.  Before Landmark, Tom was with Sabal Financial Group where he was the Director of Home Builder Finance, providing non-recourse A&D and construction loans to homebuilders nationally. This was a start-up group, which successfully took advantage of the gap created when commercial banks largely deserted the space during the housing downturn. Prior to Sabal, Tom was at Bank of America for 25 years in a number of positions of increasing responsibility in the Commercial Real Estate Bank. His last position at Bank of America was Division Executive in charge of the Home Builder Division, which was the largest provider of financing to homebuilders nationally with over $13 billion in commitments. Tom earned his bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and his MBA from Pepperdine University. He is a member of ULI, NAHB, CBIA, HomeAid America (Treasurer), and the Cornell University Real Estate Council. He is also a licensed California Real Estate Professional.

Terry Ruckle

Senior Advisor

Terry Ruckle is a 30-plus year industry veteran who has been involved in the closing of more than $5 billion of residential land transactions. With experience as a land broker, real estate advisor, and joint venture equity provider, Mr. Ruckle is well versed across the entire capital structure and across all major asset classes. He is a co-founder of the California Division of Land Advisors Organization, the leading residential land brokerage firm in the nation.  His prior experience includes work as an industrial land broker for Grubb & Ellis. Mr. Ruckle holds a bachelor’s degree from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. He is a licensed California Real Estate Professional.

John O. Meek

Vice President of Capital Relationships

John Meek has 10 years of real estate finance and investment experience having served as both a capital advisor and principal investor.

At Landmark, John is focused on expanding the institutional capital base by building trusted relationships with senior debt providers, structured finance investors, and joint venture equity partners. Prior to joining Landmark, he worked as an acquisitions associate for Champion Real Estate Company, focused on acquiring value-add retail and development projects. His real estate finance experience also includes work for Bilak & Kramer Capital, a Beverly Hills based family office, Credit Suisse and CharterMac Mortgage Capital.

John earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California and is a licensed California Real Estate Professional.

Trevor Albrecht

Senior Financial Analyst

Trevor Albrecht joined Land Advisors Capital, the predecessor to Landmark Capital Advisors, as a Financial Analyst in February 2014. Mr. Albrecht is responsible for analyzing and underwriting all prospective debt and equity originations for residential and commercial real estate assets. He has helped develop various financial models used by Landmark Capital in their underwriting process. Mr. Albrecht is also responsible for creating the Landmark Capital investment memoranda as well as managing the Landmark Capital Deal Pipeline. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration – Finance from the University of California, Riverside.

Ingrid Vallon

Operations Manager

Ingrid Vallon joined Landmark Capital Advisors in August 2015 as an Operations Manager. Ingrid is responsible for improving the operational systems and processes in support of the organization’s mission. She is also responsible for brand development as well as PR, print and digital marketing initiatives. Prior to Landmark Capital, Ingrid was a marketing coordinator at Sabal Financial where she was responsible for supporting media outreach efforts including but not limited to research, data collection and subject matter expert interviews. She assisted in the development of communication tools and promotional materials for all business lines, developed annual events and conference programs. She oversaw marketing campaigns including design, content and CRM database management as well as social media initiatives. Ingrid holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and a master degree in international business from ” L’ecole Superieure de Commerce”, French trade school of Rennes, Brittany.
